In the second quarter of 2022, the top five social apps in Algeria demonstrated diverse performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app performed according to Sensor Tower data.

Facebook Lite experienced significant activity throughout Q2 2022. Weekly downloads peaked at approximately 490K in late May, while active users steadily increased from 16.7M to 17.6M by mid-June. Revenue saw a notable peak, reaching around $379 in mid-April, but generally fluctuated around $150-$200 per week.

Instagram showed strong download numbers, with a peak of about 322K in mid-June. Active users maintained a steady range, fluctuating between 6.7M and 7M throughout the quarter. Revenue, however, remained low, peaking at $17 in mid-April and maintaining minimal figures for most of the period.

TikTok led in revenue generation, reaching a high of approximately $3.3K in early May. Weekly downloads were robust, peaking at around 353K in mid-June. Active users also showed a positive trend, increasing from about 4.5M to over 5.1M by the end of June.

Likee - Short Video Community had a mixed quarter. Downloads peaked at around 152K in early May but dropped significantly to around 24K by the end of June. Active users saw a slight decline from about 430K to 345K over the same period. Revenue remained low, peaking at $81 in mid-April.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App showed consistent performance in downloads and active users. Downloads peaked at around 79K in late June, while active users increased from approximately 525K to over 612K. Revenue was relatively stable, peaking at about $518 in late April.
